Blue Vinney and Dorset Blue
Dorset Blue is a Protected Food Name made only in Dorset and is a close relative of Dorset Blue Vinney. Long Clawson Dairy ocasionally make blue Vinney in Leicestershire. Both are reduced fat blue cheeses made from partially skimmed milk so that they tend to be harder than other blue cheeses. They are similar in size to Stilton but have a very different flavour (being sharper), less creamy and as they age become very hard indeed – like most lower fat semi hard cheeses.
